These ads give me a hard-on






Not just these ads in particular but all of the old Economist ads. Being a copywriter you’d expect me to be in awe of these but even the art direction is amazing; White out of red, beautiful typeface and a charmingly simple layout. I’m not going to analyse them because 1) I wouldn’t do them justice 2) There’s already a brilliant book about them and 3) I’m actually meant to be doing other work right now.


One more thing though, even the title of the book by Alfredo Marcantonio makes me cream my pants 'Well written and red'. Humbling to say the least.
